Attack of the Dinosaur

This series of pics was taken by Ezra a couple of weeks ago.
Obviously our camera was nothing too special given that I let the four year old handle it...
unsupervised I might add.
I was busy doing something terribly important...
like checking facebook or blogging or dreaming of a vacation...
without the kids...
very, very important.

Buh-Bye

Well, it was inevitable.
Today, our camera decided it no longer wants to take pics.
It's been cranky for a while now.

(the kiddos several weeks ago visiting their new baby cousin)

Taking fuzzy pictures.
Long delays.
Messing up potentially really good pictures.
At least that was always my excuse.
We've talked about getting a new one.
But just didn't want to shell out the money.
Or, more accurately, didn't have the money.
Still don't, but how do you survive without a camera?

So, for the time being, I'm stuck with old pics.
Just thankful it made it through the big birthday party yesterday.

Now, what to buy.
Any suggestions?

I Love Being Mommy

with kiddos this cute,
who wouldn't?
Isaiah 40:11
He tends His flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in His arms
and carries them close to His heart;
He gently leads those that have young.

this has been a favorite verse of mine for a few years now.
it's an encouragement (and reminder) to me to know that Jesus is gently leading me,
even when i am not so gently leading my children.
thanks kiddos for letting me be your mommy.
i love every moment...
even the difficult ones...
but especially the sweet ones.

Fingerprint Friday

Wednesday night Ryan and I were out in the yard enjoying a gorgeous evening, when we heard some rustling in the tree above us.
We looked up to see baby squirrels. I ran to get the camera and called to the two little boys to come see. The boys quickly lost interest and went back to playing with the recently captured crawdads.
But Ryan and I watched, took pictures and watched some more. There are five here.
After a while Ezra came over and said, "You're still looking at them?"

To which I replied, "Mommy is ____ (insert age here, 29 or younger would be nice, thank you) years old and she has never seen baby squirrels." He was very unimpressed.

Count the six bushy tails. We thought we might have seen as many as eight.
And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds...And it was so. God made the wild animals according to their kinds...And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:24-25

Each week pamperingbeki hosts Fingerprint Fridays and uses a song by Steven Curtis Chapman as a springboard. Join in if you can. It's a great way to be reminded of God's goodness.
I can see the fingerprints of god
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know its true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God

So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them?
