Colors-Fingerprint Friday.

Here they are.
The colors the kids have picked
for their new rooms.
Jakie's on the left.
Brookie's on the right.
Bright.
Fun.
Happy.

We're beginning this weekend.
Can't wait to get started.

Can you just imagine what the colors in heaven will be like?
Maybe more vivid.
Maybe new colors.
Likely more wonderful than we can fathom.

Revelation 4:3
And He who was sitting
was like a jasper (clear) stone
and a sardius (red) in appearance;
and there was a rainbow around the throne,
like an emerald in appearance.
(Parenthesis were added by me.)

Na Na, Na Na, Na Na, Na Na

Na Na, Na Na, Na Na, Na Na...

Look who showed up at my house yesterday.
And apparently took pictures of himself.
While I was in the shower.

...Batman!

Funny Ezzie story.
Friday night we went out to eat in KC.
When we got back to the car it was dark.
So Ezzie reached up and turned on the light above his seat.

Brookie: Ezzie what are you doing?
Ezzie: I'm buckling up you Foo!
Brookie: What does that mean exactly?
Ezzie: You don't want to know.

(And, to answer your question.
No, we do not watch re-runs of the A-team.)

Our Weekend

We spent the weekend in KC.
Watching Brookie's soccer tourney.
I know I'm her mom.
But, man, is it fun to watch her.
I love that pony tail so much.
How it flips around.
How it flies out as she's flying down the field.
They played on turf.
It was a beautiful complex.
Little pieces of rubber popped up.
With every bounce and kick.
And it was absolutely gorgeous weather.
And Saturday morning I went shopping.
With another mom.
To Macy's.
Clearance shopping.
No kids.
Thanks, honey. Silver uni's.
After win #3.
Aren't they the cutest bunch of girls?
And now, I'm going to brag a little.
This team went undefeated this weekend.
They shut out all four teams they played.
They brought home the first ever
1st place win by a Newton girls' soccer team.
Way to go Storm!

Waiting

We get caught by trains often.
Never at a good time.
Always when we are in a hurry.
Running late.
Trying to get the kids home for bed.
But I began thinking about waiting
as I was waiting on this train.
And at home I looked up verses about waiting.
This is the verse that stood out to me.

Psalm 132:5
I wait for the LORD,
my soul waits,
and in His Word I put my hope.

Does my soul wait for the Lord?
What does that look like?
Feel like?
That's deep down.
To the very core of me.
An incredible yearning for the Lord.
For His kingdom.
Wow.
Even trains can be a fingerprint of God.
A conviction.

Adjusting

I was ready for school to start.
I thought.
I was ready for quieter days.
I thought.
I was ready to feed fewer at lunch.
I thought.

I think I thought wrong.
Well, except for the fewer at lunch part.
It's okay that I don't need to make
13 grilled cheese sandwiches.
And 2 boxes of mac and cheese.
(I go all out.)

E-Man

the X Games were on.
Ezzie was inspired to have his own.
E-Man.
Someday he may be famous.
You saw it here first.

Table Talk

I love the conversations Ezra and I have at the table.
Sometimes they are thoughtful,
even theological.
For a five year old, anyway.
"Mommy, when we go to heaven
do we come back to earth?"
And sometimes they are just...
interesting...or disgusting.
"I like to eat my boogers.
Even the really squishy ones."

Yum.
